MARGO LEWIS


Margo is owner and President of Talent Consultants International, Ltd., a 14-year-old talent agency whose diverse roster ranges from Rock & Roll Hall of Famers (Bo Diddley) to 70's Disco superstars (Village People) to new Rock bands (Jason Bonham Band). She is also the owner of the management firm Talent Source which represents such acts as Wilson Pickett, Bo Diddley and Johnnie Johnson. In addition, Margo has been involved in the production of several special events which featured her artists, such as in 1988 when Margo produced "The Gunslingers Tour" --- a world-wide tour starring Bo Diddley and Ron Wood of The Rolling Stones --- which culminated in a live album recorded at The Ritz in New York. Through her representation of David Ruffin & Eddie Kendrick, Margo helped facilitate the collaboration of these ax-Temptations with Hall & Oates, leading to a 1985 Gold recording, "Live At The Apollo," a concert held to benefit the United Negro College Fund/ N.A.A.C.P. Other tours include the 1997 "70's Music Explosion" tour which she produced with Delsener/Slater Enterprises. The tour played venues such as Radio City Music Hall and Jones Beach in New York and The Greek Theatre in L.A., and featured Village People, KC & The Sunshine Band, Kool & The Gang and many others.

A musician herself, Margo was a member of Goldie and the Gingerbreads --- the first all-female rock band to be signed to a major label --- which had the distinction of entering the British Pop Charts in 1964 and touring with the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Kinks and The Yardbirds, among others. More recently, Margo performed on Bo Diddley's 1996 Grammy-nominated release, "A Man Amongst Men."

Currently serves as Trustee for NARAS, and is the Chairperson of the Musical Events Committee for NARAS's New York Chapter. Production coordinator for their two Protege Series shows (Robert Flack/Jareese and John Hammond/G. Love), four increasingly popular Blues/R&B Jams, and the newly introduced Jazz Jam. In the process of facilitating the collaboration between NARAS and MusiCares to stage benefit concerts.

On the Advisory Board for the New York-based Women in Music, Inc.. Co-produced Women In Music's successful "Sisters of the Sixties" event at New York's Town Hall in 1997, which featured legends such as Lesley Gore, Mary Wilson of The Supremes and Beverly Lee of The Shirelles; she will co-produce the sequel "Sisters of the Seventies" in 1998. Serves on Women In Music's Touchstone Awards committee, which honors female pioneers in the music industry, and which held their first annual luncheon in 1997 celebrating Ethel Gabriel, Valerie Simpson and several others.
